1.
Introductions & GH-CAN Meeting
Notes for last week, 11/12/2014 (emailed)
a.
GH-CAN was excited to welcome representatives from the Department of
Social Services to their first meeting.
2. Updates:
a. Shelter Bed Availability Report:
Please note that this is an
Internal CAN
Document only, and should only be distributed
to CAN agency staff.
b. Interim GH-CAN Release of
Information- For use in every assessment appointment.
i.
The
HMIS Release of Information covers several options for clients in terms of data
sharing. They can opt out of telling one
agency, they can share less information.
With the implementation of Coordinated Access, those sharing
restrictions are no longer realistic. In
order to work as a coordinated system, clients will not be able to limit their
information sharing as they have in the past.
The medical model for treatment says “if you need medical treatment, you
need to complete this information release,” and the same will need to be true
for our CAN in order to work as a community.
